Backhoe Repair
 
 

      This Backhoe was brought to me with a 12" x 12" piece torn completely out of the bucket. The cutting edge that is made out of 6" x ¾" steel was torn out and broken in two pieces. It took about 15 hours of cutting and grinding to get the pieces fit up ready to weld.
 
 

  

   The cutting edge, made of a brittle steel, showed signs of many small fissure fractures from being torn out. I welded the cutting edge and the bucket with Fab Shield 21B .035 wire. It has a tensile strength of 90,700 PSI without using shielding gas.
