Did you ever have a riding lawnmower and go to put it on a trailer to find out that the deck offset prevented you from doing just that? Many people have mowers 48" wide but because of the deck offset it is actually around 56" wide. Although the price of the trailer was more than the cheap built trailers it should last a lifetime barring any collisions or accidents. | ||||
| The trailer I set out to build needed to be better than the many cheap angle iron frame trailer that you see all the time. I used 2" x 2" x 1/8" tube steel for the chassis. I then added a Dexter axle which made parts availability a non issue for repair parts. I used 9ga. Expanded metal for the deck and tailgate. I then made some arms to hold the tailgate in place from ¼" x 2" flat stock. |
