      The Dumpster Project had some interesting aspects to it in that the bottom was completely rusted thru and the sides of the Dumpster were mushroomed out from slamming it down. I had to cut 8" from the bottom to try and straighten the sides back to where I could weld a new bottom and side re-inforcements.
 
 

 

     I had the local steel shop bend some 10ga.sheet steel for the bottom. I used 2" tube steel to straighten the sides so that I could line up the sheet steel to weld it. I used 2" x 2" x ¼" angle steel on the inside and outside to reinforce the existing metal. I used 2" x 1" x 1/8" channel steel on the outside bottom to keep the bottom from rusting out.
